     Drury Fletcher may have been born circa 1754, based on the dates of other known events in his life.5,4 Drury married Sarah Benham, daughter of John Benham and Mary Hobbs, on 6 July 1786 at Washington County, Virginia, in a ceremony performed by John Frost.6,2,7,4 Drury died in 1817 at Lee County, Virginia.2,8
     

Drury appeared on a tax list for the first time in 1782 at Lunenburg County, Virginia, as "Drury Fletcher".2,9

Drury purchased 272 acres of land lying on the waters of the North Fork of Holston River at Washington County, Virginia, from Joel Hobbs 15 August 1786. The deed was witnessed by John Benham, John Hawkins and Jesse Robinson.10

Drury appeared on the tax list of 1786 at Washington County, Virginia, as "Drury Fletcher".2

Drury and Sarah Benham conveyed land at Washington County, Virginia, to Roland Chiles 23 August 1788. This was the land Drury purchased from Joel Hobbs in 1786.10,11

Drury appeared on the tax list of 1790 at Russell County, Virginia, as "Drury Fletcher".3

The first United States census was taken in 1790. Drury may have lived at Lincoln County, Virginia, but the 1790 federal census was lost for all counties in Virginia.12

Drury appeared on the tax list of 20 March 1799 at Lee County, Virginia, as "Drury Fletcher". He was taxed on one white male above 16, and three horses.13

Drury Fletcher and Sarah Benham were separated circa 1800.9

The second United States census was taken in 1800. Drury may have lived at Lee County, Virginia, but the 1800 federal census was lost for all counties in Virginia except Accomack and Louisa.14

Drury purchased a tract of land lying on Powell River from Mary Benham, John Benham Jr., Vincent Benham and William Benham at Russell County, Virginia, 21 June 1802. This land had been bequeathed to the Benhams by the will of their father, John Benham, Sr.15

Drury purchased 120 acres 21 June 1802.16

Drury moved to Russell County (now Lee County) Virginia from Washington County, Virginia in 1802.9

Drury and Sarah Benham were divorced in 1809 at Lee County, Virginia. Drury Fletcher's divorce petition stated that his wife, Sarah "without any cause or evil treatment" eloped with and married Edward Wilburn.17

Drury appeared on the tax list of 28 May 1810 at Lee County, Virginia, as "Drury Fletcher". He was taxed on one tithable, no slaves and four horses.18

Drury conveyed a tract of land at Lee County, Virginia, to George Zion 28 December 1813.19

Drury conveyed a tract of land at Lee County, Virginia, to Hugh Boggs 19 May 1814.20

Drury conveyed a tract of land at Lee County, Virginia, to James Fletcher 2 March 1816.21

Drury conveyed a tract of land at Lee County, Virginia, to Dolly Bausell 1 May 1816. The deed stated in part, "(I give) the tract of land on which I live to Dolly Bausell for love and affection, and for other services she has done for me for some years past, during her natural life and after her death to her four daughters."22

Drury conveyed a tract of land to William Fletcher January 1817. William sold this tract of land on June 29, 1817 to John Zion, Sr.23

Eliza Fletcher circa 1919
     Eliza P. Fletcher was born on 9 February 1838 at Missouri.1,5,6,7 She was the daughter of James Fletcher and Nancy Nave.1,4 Eliza married Lewis Woodger Cox, son of Solomon Cox and Deborah Collins, on 17 November 1858 at Missouri in a ceremony performed by J. W. McGarvey. They were married at the home of the bride near Lexington, Lafayette County, Missouri.8,9 Eliza died on 19 April 1921 at age 83 years, 2 months and 10 days at Rifle, Garfield County, Colorado.8,5 She was buried at Dover Cemetery in Dover, Lafayette County, Missouri.10
     

The seventh United States census was taken in 1850. Eliza was enumerated as "Eliza Fletcher", in the household of James Fletcher at Lafayette County, Missouri. Her given age was 12 and her given place of birth was Missouri. She attended school.4

The eighth United States census was taken in 1860. Eliza was enumerated as "Eliza Cox", in the household of Lewis Woodger Cox at Dover Township, Lafayette County, Missouri. Her given age was 22 and her given place of birth was Missouri.11

The ninth United States census was taken in 1870. Eliza was enumerated as "Elisa Cox", in the household of Lewis Woodger Cox at Dover Township, Lafayette County, Missouri. Her given age was 32 and her given place of birth was Missouri.12

The tenth United States census was taken in 1880. Eliza was enumerated in the household of Lewis Woodger Cox as his wife, "Eliza Cox", at Dover Township, Lafayette County, Missouri. Her given age was 42 and her given place of birth was Missouri.13

The twelfth United States census was taken in 1900. Eliza was enumerated in the household of Lewis Woodger Cox as his wife, "Lydia P. Cox", at Dover Township, Lafayette County, Missouri. Her given age was 62, and she was said to have been born in Missouri in February 1837. She had been married for 41 years and was the mother of nine children, eight of whom were living.14

Eliza was widowed 12 January 1908 at the age of 69, when her husband Lewis Woodger Cox died at Lafayette County, Missouri.10,8

The thirteenth United States census was taken in 1910. Eliza was enumerated in the household of Frank Evans as his mother-in-law, "Eliza P. Cox", at Lafayette County, Missouri. Her given age was 72 and her given place of birth was Missouri. She was a widow.15

The fourteenth United States census was taken in 1920. Eliza was enumerated in the household of Charles W. Crim as his mother-in-law, "Eliza Cox", at West Frankfort, Franklin County, Illinois. Her given age was 81 and her given place of birth was Missouri. She was a widow.16

     James Fletcher was born circa 1791 at Washington County, Virginia.5 He was the son of Drury Fletcher and Sarah Benham.4,5 James married first Margaret Patterson before 1815 at Lee County, Virginia.5 James married second Nancy Nave, daughter of Jacob Nave and Elizabeth (?), on 12 June 1825 at Missouri. Rev. Duke Young married the couple.6,7,3 James died on 11 February 1860 at Lafayette County, Missouri.8,9,5
     

James served in the military as a drummer in the 35th Regiment, Riflement, United States infantry at Lee County, Virginia.6

James purchased a tract of land at Lee County, Virginia, from Drury Fletcher 2 March 1816.10

James moved to Lillard County (now Lafayette County), Missouri from Virginia after 1816.11

James conveyed 46 acres, lying on the west side of Powell River for $350 at Lee County, Virginia, to John Zion 25 August 1818. This land had been conveyed to James Fletcher by Drury Fletcher.12

The fourth United States Census was taken in 1820. James may have lived at Lillard County (now Lafayette County), Missouri, but the 1820 federal census for all counties in Missouri is not extant.13

James was widowed on 12 June 1825 when his wife Margaret died at Lillard County (now Lafayette County), Missouri.8

James was appointed guardian of his daughters, Mary, Sarah, Jane, Martha and Caroline Fletcher on 27 June 1825 at Lafayette County, Missouri.14

The fifth United States Census was taken in 1830. James was enumerated as "James Fletcher", head of a household at Lafayette County, Missouri. His household consisted of one male of 5 and under 10 years of age, one male of 30 and under 40, three females under 5, two females of 5 and under 10, two females of 10 and under 15, one female of 15 and under 20, and one female of 20 and under 30.15

James Fletcher was appointed administrator of the estate of Elizabeth Nave on 25 February 1843 at Lafayette County, Missouri.16

His given age was 59 and his given place of birth was Virginia. He was a farmer, and the value of his real estate was $10,000. Also enumerated in his household were Nancy Fletcher, Lucinda Fletcher, Isabella Fletcher, Catherine Fletcher, Eliza Fletcher, James B. Fletcher, Emerine Fletcher, Ellen Fletcher and Martin Lowry.2
