     William Turner was born circa 1778 at North Carolina.1 He was the son of Thomas Turner and Catherine Smith.2,3 William Turner married Elizabeth Crooks on 28 June 1803 at Madison County, Kentucky, in a ceremony performed by John Pace.4,5 William died on 7 September 1876 at Audrain County, Missouri.6
     

William and Elizabeth Crooks obtained a marriage bond at Madison County, Kentucky. Edward Roberts signed the marriage bond as surety with William Turner, and James Parish witnessed.4

William Turner was named as an heir in the will of Thomas Turner on 18 May 1815 at Madison County, Kentucky.7

The seventh United States census was taken in 1850. William was enumerated as "William Turner", head of a household at Boone County, Missouri. His given age was 72, and he was said to have been born in North Carolina. He was a farmer, and the value of his real estate was $480. Also enumerated in his household was Elizabeth Turner.1
