     John Turner was the son of John Turner and Tabitha Mobley.1,2 John Turner married Betsy Ann Blewett, daughter of Eli K. Blewett and Elizabeth Ann Williams, on 17 April 1826 at Warren County, Kentucky, in a ceremony performed by Reverend Christopher Harris.1
     

John and Betsy Ann Blewett obtained a marriage bond in April 1826 at Warren County, Kentucky. Consent for the groom was given by his father, John Turner, by letter in which his father stated that it was not convenient for him to come to "Bolin Green". The consent was witnessed by Andrew Turner and Levinia M. Turner. Eli Blewitt signed the bond with John Turner.1

     John Turner was born in 1738 at Spotsylvania County, Virginia.2 He was the son of John Turner and Sarah Williams.2,1 John Turner married first Rebecca Smith, daughter of Andrew Smith and Annah (?), circa 1761.1 John Turner married second Jane Cooper on 29 April 1780 at Rowan County, North Carolina.3 John died on 5 December 1813 at age 75 years at Madison County, Kentucky.2,1 He was buried at Madison County, Kentucky.1
     

John served in the military as a private in the North Carolina Revolutionary Army in 1777. He volunteered at the age of 39.4

John was widowed between 1779 and 1880 when his wife Rebecca Smith died.1

John and Jane Cooper obtained a marriage bond in April 1780 at Rowan County, North Carolina. James Patterson signed the marriage bond as surety, and B. Booth Boote witnessed.3

John made a will on 3 December 1813 at Madison County, Kentucky, in which he left property to Andrew Turner, Thomas Turner, Edward Turner, John Turner, Cornelius B. Turner, Anny Turner, Sarah Turner, Charity Tuder, William C. Turner, Eleanor Turner, Jane Turner, Catharine Turner, Barnett Turner, James Turner, Phillip Turner, Jesse Turner, Jonathan Turner and Mildred Turner.5
