     John Turner was born on 12 September 1768 at Rowan County, North Carolina.3 He was the son of John Turner and Rebecca Smith.3,4 John Turner married Tabitha Mobley, daughter of Benjamin Moberly and Mary Price, on 20 October 1791 at Madison County, Kentucky.2,5 John died on 1 August 1846 at age 77 years, 10 months and 20 days at Howard County, Missouri.3 He was buried at in Howard County, Missouri.3
     

John and Tabitha Mobley obtained a marriage bond on 15 October 1791 at Madison County, Kentucky. Jacob Baker signed the bond as surety with John.5

John received a grant of 35 acres on the Dry Fork of the Gasper River watercourse at Warren County, Kentucky, on 20 October 1810.6

John Turner witnessed a deed conveying 99 acres and 30 poles of land for $150 Warren County, Kentucky from John Sloss to Eli K. Blewett 13 January 1811.7
