     Rufus Earl Snellings was born in December 1879 at Missouri.3 He was the son of Sidney Snellings and Henrietta Graves.1,3 Rufus Earl Snellings married Bessie Louis Pollard, daughter of Walter Harris Pollard and Mary Rovilla Cox, on 22 December 1901 at Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri.1 Rufus died on 27 February 1959 at age 79 years and 2 months at Sacramento, Sacramento County, California.2
     

The twelfth United States census was taken in 1900. Rufus was enumerated in the household of Sidney Snellings as his son, "Rufus Snellings", at Union Township, at Monroe County, Missouri. His given age was 20, and he was said to have been born in Missouri in December 1879. He was single.3

The fourteenth United States census was taken in 1920. Rufus was enumerated as "Rufus E. Snellings", head of a household at Sugar Creek Township, Randolph County, Missouri. His given age was 40 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He was married, and was a farmer on a general farm. Enumerated with him was his wife, Bessie L. Snellings. Also enumerated in his household were Walter Nelson Snellings, Virginia Fletcher Snellings, Rubey Pollard Snellings, Lois Luceil Snellings, Carl Curtis Snellings, Earl Rufus Snellings and Ora Belle Snellings.4
