     Thomas Shields was born in 1799 at Kentucky.1 He was the son of James Shields and Nancy (?).2 Thomas Shields married Frances Johnson, daughter of William Johnson.1 Thomas died on 24 July 1865 at age 66 years at Fayette, Howard County, Missouri.3 He was buried at in Fayette, Howard County, Missouri.2
     

Thomas Shields obtained a land patent for 80 acres at Howard County, Missouri, on 1 August 1825. The land was located in the east half of NW 1/4, section 15, in township 50, range 15.4 (Click on the icon to see the image.).
