     Gail Winton Pollard Sr. was born on 27 April 1892 at Monroe County, Missouri.^1,4 He was the son of Walter Harris Pollard and Mary Rovilla Cox.^1,2,3 Gail Winton Pollard Sr. married Hazel Marie Blaker, daughter of Ira Blaker and Maggie Jolly, on 22 February 1915 at Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri.^5,6 Gail died on 18 December 1962 at age 70 years, 7 months and 21 days at Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri.⁷ He was buried at in Randolph County, Missouri.⁸
     

The twelfth United States census was taken in 1900. Gail was enumerated in the household of Walter Harris Pollard as his son, "Gail W. Pollard", at Union Township, at Monroe County, Missouri. His given age was 8, and he was said to have been born in Missouri in April 1892. He attended school.²

The thirteenth United States census was taken in 1910. Gail was enumerated in the household of Walter Harris Pollard as his son, "Gail W. Pollard", at Union Township, at Monroe County, Missouri. His given age was 17 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He was a farm laborer on a home farm, and he attended school.³

The fourteenth United States census was taken in 1920. Gail was enumerated as "Gail Pollard", head of a household at Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri. His given age was 26 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He was married, and he worked for the National Oil Company. Enumerated with him was his wife, Hazel Marie Pollard. Also enumerated in his household was Winton Pollard.⁹

The fifteenth United States census was taken in 1930. Gail was enumerated as "Gail Pollard", head of a household at South Sugar Creek Township, Randolph County, Missouri. His given age was 36 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He was married at the age of 23. He owned his home which was valued at $6,000, and did not live on a farm. He was a manager of an oil supply station. He was not a veteran. Enumerated with him was his wife, Hazel Marie Pollard. Also enumerated in his household was Gail Winton Pollard Jr..¹⁰

Gail and Hazel Marie Blaker moved to Flint, Genesee County, Michigan from Randolph County, Missouri.⁷
