Elias Myers1 (M)

     Elias Myers was born on 29 October 1829 at Frederick County, Virginia.2 He married Sarah Lovelady, daughter of John Weir Lovelady and Mary Cox, on 9 February 1860 at Lafayette County, Missouri.3
     

Elias moved to Lafayette County, Missouri from Virginia in 1857.3

The eighth United States census was taken in 1860. Elias was enumerated as "Elias Myers", in the household of John Weir Lovelady at Lafayette County, Missouri. His given age was 30 and his given place of birth was Virginia. He was a farmer.1

Elias began military service He enlisted in the confederate service, company B, Col. Gordon's cavalry, under Gen. Shelby. He took part in the battles of Independence, Westport, Carthage and other engagements in which his command participated in October 1864 at Missouri.3 Elias ended military service on 13 June 1865.3

The ninth United States census was taken in 1870. Elias was enumerated as "Elias Meyers", head of a household at Lafayette County, Missouri. His given age was 40 and his given place of birth was Virginia. The value of his real estate was $6,000 and the value of his personal estate was $1,000. Also enumerated in his household were Sarah Lovelady, Mary Myers, Bettie Myers, Leslie Meyers and Mary Lovelady.4

Mallory married Agnes Catherine Ess, daughter of John Ess and Jeanette Burns, on 3 February 1887 at Missouri.6 Elvington died on 15 June 1922 at age 61 years, 4 months and 22 days at Saling Township, Audrain County, Missouri.1 (Click on the icon to see the image.).1 He was buried on 16 June 1922 at in Audrain County, Missouri.1,4

Enumerated with him was his wife, Agnes Catherine Mallory. Also enumerated in his household were John W. Mallory, Ora H. Mallory, Nettie Mallory, Charles G. Mallory and Bertha T. Mallory.7

The thirteenth United States census was taken in 1910. Elvington was enumerated as "Elvington Mallory", head of a household at Saling Township, Audrain County, Missouri. His given age was 48 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He had been married for 23 years, and he was a farmer on a general farm which he owned. Enumerated with him was his wife, Agnes Catherine Mallory. Also enumerated in his household were John W. Mallory, Nettie Mallory, Charles G. Mallory and Bertha T. Mallory.2

At the age of 59, Elvington was widowed 31 March 1920 when his wife Agnes died at Saling Township, Audrain County, Missouri.8,4

The cause of Elvington's death was chronic nephritis.1
