David Vaughn Jr.1

     David Vaughn Jr. was born circa 1775 at Virginia.2,1 David married Mary Smith, daughter of Reuben Smith and Sylvia Hawkins, at Greenville District, South Carolina.1 David died on 2 April 1852 at South Carolina.3 He was buried at Vaughn Family Cemetery in Greenville District, South Carolina.3
     

David moved to South Carolina from Virginia in 1804.4

The fourth United States Census was taken in 1820. David was enumerated as "David Vaughn", head of a household at Greenville District, South Carolina. His household consisted of two free white males under 10 years of age, one free white male of 45 and upwards, two free white females under 10, one free white female of 10 and under 16, and one free white female of 16 and under 26.5

The seventh United States census was taken in 1850. David was enumerated as "David Vaughn", head of a household at Greenville District, South Carolina. His given age was 75 and his given place of birth was Virginia. He was a farmer, and the value of his real estate was $1,700. Also enumerated in his household were Mary Vaughn and Sylvia Vaughn.2

David made a will on 12 January 1849 at Greenville District, South Carolina, in which he left property to Mary Vaughn, Emelia Green, Sarah Green, Sylvia Vaughn, Mary Vaughn and Hepsibah Vaughn.6

His obituary appeared in the newspaper at Greenville District, South Carolina.4

The estate of David Vaughn Jr. was admitted for probate on 11 May 1852 at Greenville District, South Carolina.6
