     William C. Bell was born on 24 June 1862 at North Carolina.6,2 He was the son of John W. Bell and Julia A. (?).3,4,5 William C. married Jeannettia Vaughn, daughter of John Thomas Vaughn and Jane Elizabeth Simmons, circa 1884 at South Carolina.1,2 William died on 18 May 1904 at age 41 years, 10 months and 24 days at Piedmont, Greenville County, South Carolina.6,2,7 He was buried at Clear Spring Baptist Church Cemetery in Simpsonville, Greenville County, South Carolina.8
     

Other evidence indicates that William's name may have been William Charles Bell.9

The ninth United States census was taken in 1870. William was enumerated as "William C. Bell", in the household of John W. Bell at Fairview Township, Greenville County, South Carolina. His given age was 7 and his given place of birth was North Carolina. He attended school.3

The tenth United States census was taken in 1880. William was enumerated in the household of John W. Bell as his son, "William Bell", at Austin Township, Greenville County, South Carolina. His given age was 17 and his given place of birth was North Carolina. He attended school, and he worked on the farm.4

The twelfth United States census was taken in 1900. William was enumerated as "William C. Bell", head of a household at Butler Township, Greenville County, South Carolina. His given age was 37, and he was said to have been born in North Carolina in June 1862. He had been married for 16 years. He was a yarn baler at a cotton mill, and he rented his home. Enumerated with him was his wife, Jeannettia Bell. Also enumerated in his household were Ellie L. Bell, James Herbert Bell, Thomas J. Bell, Ethel A. Bell, Essie Elizabeth Bell, Mattie Lou Bell, Janie Bell and Jennice Bell.1

William was widowed 10 December 1902 at the age of 40, when his wife Jeannettia died at South Carolina.6,2,7

John Benham witnessed a deed conveying 272 acres of land lying on the waters of the North Fork of Holston River Washington County, Virginia from Joel Hobbs to Drury Fletcher 15 August 1786.6

The first United States census was taken in 1790. John may have lived at Lincoln County, Virginia, but the 1790 federal census was lost for all counties in Virginia.7

The second United States census was taken in 1800. John may have lived at Lincoln County, Virginia, but the 1800 federal census was lost for all counties in Virginia except Accomack and Louisa.8

     Sarah Benham was born circa 1769 at Virginia.3,4 She was the daughter of John Benham and Mary Hobbs.2,3 Sarah married Drury Fletcher on 6 July 1786 at Washington County, Virginia, in a ceremony performed by John Frost.5,2 Sarah married second Edward Wilburn.6
     

Other evidence indicates that Sarah's name may have been Sarah Ann Benham.3

Sarah was a cograntor with Drury Fletcher in the conveyance of land at Washington County, Virginia, to Roland Chiles 23 August 1788. This was the land Drury purchased from Joel Hobbs in 1786.7

Sarah and Drury Fletcher were divorced in 1809 at Lee County, Virginia. Drury Fletcher's divorce petition stated that his wife, Sarah "without any cause or evil treatment" eloped with and married Edward Wilburn.8

Hazel Blaker Pollard
     Hazel Marie Blaker was born on 8 August 1895 at Missouri.2 She was the daughter of Ira Blaker and Maggie Jolly.1,3,4 Hazel Marie married Gail Winton Pollard Sr., son of Walter Harris Pollard and Mary Rovilla Cox, on 22 February 1915 at Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri.1,2 Hazel died on 30 September 1963 at age 68 years, 1 month and 22 days at Flint, Genesee County, Michigan.5 She was buried at Oakland Cemetery in Randolph County, Missouri.6,7

The thirteenth United States census was taken in 1910. Hazel was enumerated in the household of Ira Blaker as his daughter, "Hazel M. Blaker", at Union Township, Monroe County, Missouri. Her given age was 14 and her given place of birth was Missouri. She attended school.4

The fourteenth United States census was taken in 1920. Hazel was enumerated in the household of Gail Winton Pollard Sr. as his wife, "Hazel Pollard", at 717 South Williams Street, Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri. Her given age was 28 and her given place of birth was Missouri.8

The fifteenth United States census was taken in 1930. Hazel was enumerated in the household of Gail Winton Pollard Sr. as his wife, "Hazel Pollard", at 415 Fifth Street, South Sugar Creek Township, Randolph County, Missouri. Her given age was 34 and her given place of birth was Missouri. She had been married at the age of 21.9

Hazel and Gail Winton Pollard Sr. moved to Flint, Genesee County, Michigan from Randolph County, Missouri.10

Hazel was widowed 18 December 1962 at the age of 67, when her husband Gail Winton Pollard Sr. died at Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri.10

Her obituary appeared in 1963 in the newspaper. Gail Winton Pollard Jr. was named as a survivor. Gail Winton Pollard Sr. preceded Hazel in death.6 (Click on the icon to see the image.).
