     Leanna Banks was born between 1763 and 1769 at Amherst County, Virginia.3 She was the daughter of Linn Banks and Sarah Proctor.2 Leanna married Absolom Pollard, son of James Pollard and Susannah (?), on 12 February 1782 at Amherst County, Virginia.4,3 Leanna died on 3 January 1845 at Lancaster, Garrard County, Kentucky.1
     

Leanna was also known as Leanner Banks.2

Leanna Pollard was named as an heir in the will of Linn Banks on 27 December 1799 at Garrard County, Kentucky.5

Leanna was widowed on 29 August 1832 when her husband Absolom died at Lancaster, Garrard County, Kentucky.6,7

Administration was granted for the estate of Leanna Banks. John Hill and John Pollard were appointed administrators of the estate of Leanna Pollard, but since both had died by Mar 1854, James M. Pollard was appointed the administrator.8

Linn Banks1

     Linn Banks was born circa 1745 at Virginia.1 He was the son of Gerrard Banks and Ann Stanton.1 Linn married Sarah Proctor at Virginia.1 Linn died at Kentucky.1
     

Linn served in the military in the Virginia Colonial Militia, as a Sergeant under the command of Col. William Byrd in 1760.2

Linn Banks was named as an heir in the will of Gerrard Banks on 7 February 1780 at Amherst County, Virginia.3

Linn moved to Lincoln County (later Garrard County), Kentucky from Fauquier County, Virginia in 1786. He lived 4 miles north of Lancaster, the county seat. He also owned land on Green River in Kentucky.4

Linn and Sarah Proctor conveyed 25 acres at Fauquier County, Virginia, to Lindsey Coleman 8 October 1787.4

Linn conveyed 45 acres at Fauquier County, Virginia, to Nathaniel Maniply 9 October 1787.4

The first United States census was taken in 1790. Linn may have lived at Lincoln County, Virginia, but the 1790 federal census was lost for all counties in Virginia.5

Linn made a will on 27 December 1799 at Garrard County, Kentucky, in which he left property to Sarah Banks, Mary Mayfield, William Banks, John Banks, Gerrard Banks, Leanna Pollard, Sarah Poindexter, Lucy Marksberry, Cevina Taylor, Susannah Nanks, Nancy Wilson and Sophia Banks . His executors were William, John and Garrard Banks. The will was witnessed by John Bryant, William Steen and Isaac Marksberry.6

This ruin in Garrard County is believed to be an old chimney, possibly that of the home of Linn and Sarah Banks.7 (Click on the icon to see the image.).
