     Henry C. Shields was born on 20 July 1840 at Warren County, Kentucky.3,4,1 Henry C. married first Mary Johnson on 11 January 1866 at Fayette, Howard County, Missouri.5 Henry C. married second Parlee Shields, daughter of Thomas Shields and Frances Johnson, on 21 March 1878 at Fayette, Howard County, Missouri.6 Henry died on 27 December 1927 at age 87 years, 5 months and 7 days at Richmond Township, Howard County, Missouri.1 He was buried at Mount Gilead Cemetery in Fayette, Howard County, Missouri.7 (Click on the icon to see the death certificate image.).1
     

Henry was widowed 19 May 1876 at the age of 35, when his wife Mary died.8
