     James Perry Pollard was born in May 1829 at Boone County, Missouri.2,3,1 He was the son of Reuben Pollard and Rebecca Brink.1 James Perry married Sarah Ann Crosswhite, daughter of John Rippetoe Crosswhite and Rosetta Mosley, on 3 October 1855 at Audrain County, Missouri, in a ceremony performed by Reverend William R. Migginton.4 (Click on the icon to see the image.).5 James died on 27 May 1920 at age 91 years at Rocheport, Boone County, Missouri.1 (Click on the icon to see the death certificate image.).1 He was buried on 28 May 1920 at Red Top Church Cemetery in Boone County, Missouri.1
     

James went to California at the time of the gold rush on 2 April 1849. He returned to Missouri in time to be enumerated on the 1850 US Census at Boone County, Missouri.6

The seventh United States census was taken in 1850. James was enumerated as "James P. Pollard", sole occupant a household at Boone County, Missouri. His given age was 21 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He was a blacksmith.7

The eighth United States census was taken in 1860. James was enumerated as "Jas P Pollard", head of a household at Rocky Fork Township, Boone County, Missouri. His given age was 30 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He was a blacksmith. His real estate was valued at $1,000 and his personal estate was valued at $250. Also enumerated in his household were Sarah Ann Pollard, Geneva Rebecca Pollard and John C. Stice.8

James Perry Pollard was a cograntor in the conveyance of 540 acres at Boone County, Missouri, to John Pollard on 1 March 1866. The land had been inherited from Reuben Pollard.9

The thirteenth United States census was taken in 1910. James was enumerated as "James Polard", head of a household at Rocky Fork Township, Boone County, Missouri. His given age was 81 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He had been married for 52 years, and was a farmer on a farm which he owned. Enumerated with him was his wife, Sarah Ann Pollard.10

James was widowed on 18 July 1913 when his wife Sarah died at Rocky Fork Township, Boone County, Missouri.11,12

His obituary appeared on 3 June 1920 in the newspaper "Sturgeon Missouri Leader" at Sturgeon, Boone County, Missouri. Geneva Rebecca Hall, Katherine Noe and Rosetta Smith were named as survivors. Sarah Ann Crosswhite preceded James in death.13 (Click on the icon to see the image.).
