     John Pollard was born in 1788 at Kentucky.¹ He was the son of Absolom Pollard and Leanna Banks.² John married Ann Thompson.^1,2 John died on 25 February 1853 at age 65 years at Garrard County, Kentucky.³ He was buried at Collier-Banks Cemetery in Garrard County, Kentucky.²
     

The seventh United States census was taken in 1850. John was enumerated as "John Pollard", head of a household at Garrard County, Kentucky. His given age was 62 and his given place of birth was Kentucky. He was a farmer, and the value of his real estate was $4,800. Also enumerated in his household were James M. Pollard, John Thompson Pollard, Ann Pollard, Elizabeth Pollard, Margaret Ann Pollard, Mary C. Pollard and Thomas Jesse Pollard.¹

John made a will on 16 February 1853 at Garrard County, Kentucky, in which he left property to Ann Pollard, James M. Pollard, Ann Eliza Hill and Adeline Sarey/Sarcy.³

The eighth United States census was taken in 1860. John was enumerated as "John H. Pollard", in the household of Demarcus L. Pollard at Rocky Fork Township, Boone County, Missouri. His given age was 9 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He attended school.²

The ninth United States census was taken in 1870. John was enumerated as "John H. Pollard", in the household of Demarcus L. Pollard at Prairie Township, Randolph County, Missouri. His given age was 19 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He worked on the farm.¹

     John Reuben Pollard was born on 12 February 1861 at Boone County, Missouri.¹ He was the son of James Perry Pollard and Sarah Ann Crosswhite.¹ John Reuben married David Ella Tucker, daughter of William Warren Tucker and Martha Blackwell Woodruff, on 22 February 1882 at Boone County, Missouri.⁴ John died on 6 May 1912 at age 51 years, 2 months and 24 days at Rocky Fork Township, Boone County, Missouri.¹ (Click on the icon to see the image.).¹ He was buried on 7 May 1912 at Red Top Church Cemetery in Boone County, Missouri.¹

The twelfth United States census was taken in 1900. John was enumerated as "John R. Pollard", head of a household at Rocky Fork Township, Boone County, Missouri. His given age was 39, and he was said to have been born in Missouri in February 1861. He had been married for 18 years, and he was a farmer on a farm he owned. Enumerated with him was his wife, David Ella Pollard. Also enumerated in his household were Rosalie Pollard, Glenn Tucker Pollard and Robert Searcy Pollard.⁵

The thirteenth United States census was taken in 1910. John was enumerated as "John R. Pollard", head of a household at Rocky Fork Township, Boone County, Missouri. His given age was 49 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He had been married for 29 years, and was a farmer on a general farm which he owned. Enumerated with him was his wife, David Ella Pollard. Also enumerated in his household was Robert Searcy Pollard.⁶

The cause of John's death was acute peritonitis.¹

His obituary appeared in the newspaper at Boone County, Missouri. David Ella Pollard, Rosalie Hall, Glenn Tucker Pollard, Robert Searcy Pollard, Geneva Rebecca Hall, Katherine Noe and Rosetta Smith were named as survivors.²

     John Samuel Pollard was born in May 1863.⁴ He was the son of John William Pollard and Elizabeth Stewart.^2,3 John Samuel married Rosetta Koon on 19 May 1889.⁴ He was buried in 1948 at Almena, Kansas.⁴ John died in May 1948 at age 85 years at Kansas.⁴

     John Thompson Pollard was born in 1839 at Kentucky.² John Thompson married Margaret Brinckerhoff on 8 October 1861.¹ John died on 18 January 1915 at age 76 years at Humboldt County, California.³

     John Will Odus Pollard was born on 13 August 1888 at Monroe County, Missouri.^1,3,4 He was the son of Walter Harris Pollard and Mary Rovilla Cox.^1,2 John Will Odus married Alta Lucretia Young, daughter of John Thomas Young and Mary Magdaline Burkey, on 9 September 1916 at Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri, in a ceremony performed by Rev. Ben L. Smith.^5,6 John died on 8 August 1976 at age 87 years, 11 months and 26 days at Boone County Hospital, in Columbia, Boone County, Missouri.⁷ He was buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia, Boone County, Missouri.⁷
     

John was also known as Hack Pollard. He was also called Ode Pollard.⁸

The twelfth United States census was taken in 1900. John was enumerated in the household of Walter Harris Pollard as his son, "John O. Pollard", at Union Township, Monroe County, Missouri. His given age was 11, and he was said to have been born in Missouri in August 1888. He attended school.²

The fourteenth United States census was taken in 1920. John was enumerated as "John O. Pollard", head of a household at Saling Township, Audrain County, Missouri. His given age was 30, and he was said to have been born in Missouri. He was married, and was a farmer on a general farm which he rented. Enumerated with him was his wife, Alta Lucretia Pollard.⁹

The fifteenth United States census was taken in 1930. John was enumerated as "John Pollard", head of a household at Macon, Macon County, Missouri. His given age was 40 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He was married when he was 23 years of age, and was a carpenter n the house industry. He rented his home for $16, and he did not live on a farm. He was not a veteran. Enumerated with him was his wife, Alta Lucretia Pollard.¹⁰

His obituary appeared on 14 August 1976 in the newspaper at Columbia, Boone County, Missouri. Mary Boughan and Belle Pollard were named as survivors. Alta Lucretia Pollard preceded John in death.⁷ (Click on the icon to see the image.).⁷

     John William Pollard was born circa 1838 at Kentucky.² He was the son of Staunton Pollard and Elizabeth King.² John William married first Elizabeth Stewart on 17 June 1858 at Garrard County, Kentucky.³ John William married second Louisa (?) after 1880.⁴ John died after 1920 at Sherman, Grayson County, Texas.¹

The tenth United States census was taken in 1880. John was enumerated as "John W. Pollard", head of a household at Lincoln County, Kentucky. His given age was 42and his given place of birth was Kentucky. He was a a widower, and was a farmer. Also enumerated in his household were John Samuel Pollard, George M. Pollard and Martha E. Pollard.⁵

John moved to Sherman, Grayson County, Texas from Lincoln County, Kentucky between 1881 and 1883.⁴

The twelfth United States census was taken in 1900. John was enumerated as "John W. Pollard", head of a household at 421 N. Throckmorton, Sherman, Grayson County, Texas. His given age was 62. He was said to have been born in December 1837 in Kentucky. He has been married for 18 years. He was a carpenter and had been unemployed for 8 months in the preceding year. He owned his home, which was mortgaged, and he was able to read and write. Also enumerated in his household were Louisa (?), Arlena B. Pollard, Ruben L. Pollard, Lily F. Pollard, Lulu F. Pollard, Finch O. Pollard and Viola M. Pollard.⁴

     Katherine Pollard was born on 4 September 1872 at Boone County, Missouri.² She was the daughter of James Perry Pollard and Sarah Ann Crosswhite.¹ Katherine married Dr. Robert B. Noe on 17 June 1890.³ Katherine died on 2 March 1955 at age 82 years, 5 months and 26 days at California.² She was buried at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego County, California.²
     

Katherine was also known as Kate Pollard.¹

     Lawrence Pollard was born circa 1896 at Kentucky.¹ He was the son of Benjamin Pollard and Mary Purcell.² Lawrence married Bertha (?) at Kentucky.¹
     

The fourteenth United States census was taken in 1920. Lawrence was enumerated as "Lawrence Pollard", head of a household at Lancaster Township, Garrard County, Kentucky. His given age was 24, and he was said to have been born in Kentucky. He was married, and was a chauffeur at the flour mill. He rented his home. Enumerated with him was his wife, Bertha Pollard. Also enumerated in his household was Walter Pollard.¹
