     Charles Leonidas Pollard was born on 2 January 1885 at Monroe County, Missouri.2,4,5,6 He was the son of Walter Harris Pollard and Mary Rovilla Cox.2,3 Charles Leonidas married Lizzie May Burkeye, daughter of Louis Burkey and Catherine M. Ess, on 19 September 1906 at Saling Township, Audrain County, Missouri. The couple was married by the Rev. Egan Herndon.7,8 Charles died on 15 November 1971 at age 86 years, 10 months and 13 days at Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri.6
     

Charles was also known as Charlie Pollard.2,9

The twelfth United States census was taken in 1900. Charles was enumerated in the household of Walter Harris Pollard as his son, "Charles L. Pollard", at Union Township, Monroe County, Missouri. His given age was 15, and he was said to have been born in Missouri in January 1885. He attended school.3

The thirteenth United States census was taken in 1910. Charles was enumerated as "Charles Pollard", head of a household at Saling Township, Audrain County, Missouri. His given age was 23 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He had been married for three years, and was a farmer on a general farm which he rented. Enumerated with him was his wife, Lizzie May Pollard. Also enumerated in his household were Mary Ruth Pollard, Catherine Burkey and Minnie Margaret Burkey.10

The fourteenth United States census was taken in 1920. Charles was enumerated as "Charlie Pollard", head of a household at Saling Township, Audrain County, Missouri. His given age was 34 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He was a farmer on a general farm which he owned. Enumerated with him was his wife, Lizzie May Pollard. Also enumerated in his household were Mary Ruth Pollard, Walter Lee Pollard and Minnie Margaret Burkey.9

The fifteenth United States census was taken in 1930. Charles was enumerated as "Charlie Pollard", head of a household at Saling Township, Audrain County, Missouri. His given age was 44 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He was married at the age of 21. He was a farmer on a general farm which he rented. He was not a veteran.      Cora Bell Pollard was born on 14 March 1868 at Monroe County, Missouri.1 She was the daughter of John Pollard and Charlotte Elizabeth Turner.1,2,3 Conflicting evidence places her birth on 14 March 1869 at Monroe County, Missouri.4,5,6 Cora Bell married James Joseph Winn, son of James Winn and Theodosia E. Brink, circa 1893 at Missouri.7,8 Cora died on 27 November 1945 at age 77 years, 8 months and 13 days at Fulton, Calloway County, Missouri.4,5 (Click on the icon to see the death certificate image.).4 She was buried on 29 November 1945 at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Saling Township, Audrain County, Missouri.4,5

     Demarcus L. Pollard was born on 3 May 1825 at Kentucky.3,6 He was the son of Reuben Pollard and Rebecca Brink.4,5 Marcus married Mary Ann Baker on 20 January 1849 at Boone County, Missouri.1 Marcus died on 14 December 1905 at age 80 years, 7 months and 11 days at Missouri.3,7 He was buried at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Saling Township, Audrain County, Missouri.3
     

Demarcus was also known as Marcus Pollard.4

Marcus went to California at the time of the gold rush on 2 April 1849. He returned to Missouri before the 1850 United States census was taken.8

The seventh United States census was taken in 1850. Marcus was enumerated as "Marcus Polard", head of a household at Audrain County, Missouri. His given age was 25 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He was a farmer and the value of his real estate was $7,000. Also enumerated in his household was Mary Ann Pollard.9

The eighth United States census was taken in 1860. Marcus was enumerated as "D. L. Pollard", head of a household at Rocky Fork Township, Boone County, Missouri. His given age was 35 and his given place of birth was Kentucky. He was a farmer. The value of his personal estate was $800. Also enumerated in his household were Mary Ann Pollard, John H. Pollard, James W. Pollard, Luther A. Pollard and Martha Hukill.10

Demarcus began military service when he enrolled as a private in the Missouri Militia on 24 November 1862 at Sturgeon, Boone County, Missouri.11 Demarcus ended military service on 9 February 1863. He was discharged for disability.11

Marcus Pollard was a cograntor in the conveyance of 540 acres at Boone County, Missouri, to John Pollard on 1 March 1866. The land had been inherited from Reuben Pollard.12

The ninth United States census was taken in 1870. Marcus was enumerated as "Demarcus L. Pollard", head of a household at Prairie Township, Randolph County, Missouri. His given age was 44 and his given place of birth was Kentucky. He was a farmer, and the value of his real estate was $3,500. Also enumerated in his household were Mary Ann Pollard, John H. Pollard, James W. Pollard, Luther A. Pollard, Idella Pollard, Greenberry Lafayette Pollard, Reubin Pollard, H. Emmett Pollard and Jackson B. Pollard.2

The tenth United States census was taken in 1880. Marcus was enumerated as "D. L. Pollard", head of a household at Prairie Township, Howard County, Missouri. His given age was 55 and his given place of birth was Kentucky. He was a farmer. Enumerated with him was his wife, Mary Ann Pollard. Also enumerated in his household were Luther A. Pollard, Greenberry Lafayette Pollard, Reubin Pollard and H. Emmett Pollard.13

Demarcus was widowed 2 August 1885 at the age of 60, when his wife Mary died at Missouri.14

His obituary appeared on 4 January 1906 in the newspaper "Sturgeon Missouri Leader" at Sturgeon, Boone County, Missouri.8
