     Bessie Louis Pollard was born on 12 October 1883 at Monroe County, Missouri.1,3,4 She was the daughter of Walter Harris Pollard and Mary Rovilla Cox.1,2 Bessie Louis married Rufus Earl Snellings, son of Sidney Snellings and Henrietta Graves, on 22 December 1901 at Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri.5 Bessie died on 8 March 1964 at age 80 years, 4 months and 25 days at California.6 She was buried at Folsom, Sacramento County, California.6

     Charles Leonidas Pollard was born on 2 January 1885 at Monroe County, Missouri.4,5,6,7 He was the son of Walter Harris Pollard and Mary Rovilla Cox.2,3 Charles Leonidas married Lizzie May Burkeye, daughter of Louis Burkey and Catherine M. Ess, on 19 September 1906 at Saling Township, Audrain County, Missouri. The couple was married by the Rev. Egan Herndon.4,8 Charles died on 15 November 1971 at age 86 years, 10 months and 13 days at Moberly, Randolph County, Missouri.7

Demarcus was also known as Marcus Pollard.3

Marcus went to California at the time of the gold rush on 2 April 1849. He returned to Missouri before the 1850 United States census was taken.7

The seventh United States census was taken in 1850. Marcus was enumerated as "Marcus Polard", head of a household at Audrain County, Missouri. His given age was 25 and his given place of birth was Missouri. He was a farmer and the value of his real estate was $7,000. Also enumerated in his household was Mary Ann Pollard.8

The eighth United States census was taken in 1860. Marcus was enumerated as "D. L. Pollard", head of a household at Rocky Fork Township, Boone County, Missouri. His given age was 35 and his given place of birth was Kentucky. He was a farmer. The value of his personal estate was $800. Also enumerated in his household were Mary Ann Pollard, John H. Pollard, James W. Pollard, Luther A. Pollard and Martha Hukill.9

Demarcus began military service when he enrolled as a private in the Missouri Militia on 24 November 1862 at Sturgeon, Boone County, Missouri.10 Demarcus ended military service on 9 February 1863. He was discharged for disability.10

Marcus Pollard was a cograntor in the conveyance of 540 acres at Boone County, Missouri, to John Pollard on 1 March 1866. The land had been inherited from Reuben Pollard.11 (Click on the icon to see the image.).

Pollard, James W. Pollard, Luther A. Pollard, Idella Pollard, Greenberry Lafayette Pollard, Reubin Pollard, H. Emmett Pollard and Jackson B. Pollard.12

The tenth United States census was taken in 1880. Marcus was enumerated as "D. L. Pollard", head of a household at Prairie Township, Howard County, Missouri. His given age was 55 and his given place of birth was Kentucky. He was married, and was a farmer. Enumerated with him was his wife, Mary Ann Pollard. Also enumerated in his household were Luther A. Pollard, Greenberry Lafayette Pollard, Reubin Pollard and H. Emmett Pollard.13

Demarcus was widowed 2 August 1885 at the age of 60, when his wife Mary died at Missouri.14

His obituary appeared on 4 January 1906 in the newspaper "Sturgeon Missouri Leader" at Sturgeon, Boone County, Missouri.7
