     Thomas Howard was born on 16 November 1817 at Madison County, Kentucky.1 Thomas married Elizabeth Shields, daughter of Francis Shields and Lucinda Deatherage, on 11 January 1844 at Howard County, Missouri.2 Thomas died on 28 September 1899 at age 81 years, 10 months and 12 days at Fayette, Howard County, Missouri.3 He was buried at Mount Gilead Cemetery in Fayette, Howard County, Missouri.3

     Arathusa Jane Hubbard was born circa 1820 at Kentucky.3 She was the daughter of Durnett Hubbard.2 Arathusa Jane married Mordecai Turner, son of Thomas Turner and Elizabeth Newland, on 15 October 1840 at Boone County, Missouri.4 Arathusa died on 5 March 1903 at Boone County, Missouri.5 She was buried at Mount Zion Church Cemetery in Boone County, Missouri.6
     

The seventh United States census was taken in 1850. Arathusa was enumerated as "Arthusa J. Turner", in the household of Mordecai Turner at Boone County, Missouri. Her given age was 29 and her given place of birth was Kentucky.7
