     Rufus C. Hipps was born on 25 January 1893.4 He was the son of Ben Pickens Hipps and Mary Lou Thackston.3 Rufus C. married Janie Bell, daughter of William C. Bell and Jeannettia Vaughn, in 1914.1,2,3 Rufus died in September 1978 at age 85 years and 7 months at Anderson County, South Carolina.4 He was buried at Clear Spring Baptist Church Cemetery in Simpsonville, Greenville County, South Carolina.5
